Getting started with Numa POS

Numa POS needs no account. Open it, answer a couple of questions, and you can start selling in a few minutes.

Set up your store

  1. Open Numa POS. The first screen is Set up your store.
  2. Type your store’s name in Store name. It is printed on your receipts.
  3. Currency starts as the peso and Timezone as your phone’s, so most stores can leave both as they are.
  4. Tap Get started.

All three can be changed later in Settings.

Moving from another phone? Tap Already using Numa? Restore a backup instead, and see Backups, and moving to a new phone.

Add what you sell

  1. On Home, tap Catalog, then tap the + button.
  2. Fill in Name, Selling price and Stock on hand.
  3. Enter the Cost, meaning what you paid for one, so Numa can work out your profit.
  4. Pick a Unit. For anything not listed, tap + Custom unit, and switch on Allow fractions if you sell it in parts, like 0.5.
  5. Pick a Category if you like, or make one with + New category. Categories become filters on the Sell screen.
  6. If the product has a barcode, tap Scan beside Barcode (optional) and point the camera at it.
  7. Set Low-stock alert at to the count you want to be warned at.
  8. Tap Save.

To change a price or a stock count later, tap the product in Catalog.

Ring up a sale

  1. Tap Sell at the bottom of the screen, or New sale on Home.
  2. Tap an item to add it, and tap it again to add another. Items you sell in parts ask how much.
  3. To find items faster, use Search products, tap a category, or tap Scan barcode at the top and scan the item.
  4. For something that isn’t in your catalog, like a service fee, tap Custom item.
  5. Tap Charge.
  6. Type what the customer handed you into Cash received, or tap Exact. Numa shows the Change to give back.
  7. Tap Complete sale.

To give a discount, tap Add discount before completing the sale.

Send or print the receipt

After every sale, Numa shows Sale complete.

  1. Tap Share to send the receipt as an image through any app on your phone, such as a messaging app.
  2. Or tap Print to print it on a Bluetooth receipt printer. Connect one first in Settings, under Receipt printer.
  3. Tap Done to start the next sale.
